Illness Reminders

Now that cold and flu season is near, I would like to remind parents of my illness policies. When a child has certain symptoms, he/she should be kept at home. Some of these symptoms are:

VOMITING - If your child vomits while at daycare, you will be expected to come immediately to remove your child from daycare. The child must stay home until 24 hours have passed with no vomiting episodes.

DIARRHEA - If your child has two loose stools or one runny stool that is not contained, you will be called to come pick up your child from daycare. The child must stay home until 24 hours have passed with no diarrhea.

FEVER - A body temperature of 100 degrees (under the arm) or higher means a child should stay home.  The child should not come to daycare until the temperature has been down for 24 hours without the aid of a fever-reducing medication such as Tylenol.

COLDS/RUNNY NOSES - Please use your discretion. If your child does not feel well enough to participate in daily activities, he/she should probably be home resting. If you would like me to administer cough/cold medication, remember to fill out an AUTHORIZATION TO DISPENSE MEDICATION form. Please be sure you do not bring medication that contains a fever reducer. I will not be able to administer fever-reducing medication due to the possibility that the illness may be disguised by the medication.

Cubbies

Fall is in the air, and with the new season I would like parents to please go through their child's cubby and update the clothing with warmer ones.  It's always nice to have extra clothes just in case.

Good Morning to You

Good morning to you, and how do you do?

We're all in our places, with sunshiny faces.

And this is the way we start a new day.

Good morning, good morning to you.

Good morning to you, and how do you do?

We're here in our places, with smiles on our faces.

And this is the way we start a new day.

Good morning, good morning to you.

Hands On Shoulders

Hand on shoulders, hands on knees,

Hands behind you if you please.

Touch your shoulders, touch your nose,

Touch your tummy, now touch your toes.

Hands up high – in the air.

Touch your ear, now touch your hair.

Hands up high – as before,

Now clap your hands,

One, two, three, four.

If You're Happy & You Know It

If your happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.  (Clap, Clap)

If your happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.  (Clap, Clap)

If your happy and you know it,

Then your face will surely show it.

If your happy and you know it,

Clap your hands.  (Clap, Clap)

Verses:

Stamp your feet

Tap your head

Touch your shoulders

Touch your knees

Touch your toes

The Policeman Song

I raise my hand up high,

I raise my hand up high,

I show the traffic where to stop,

I raise my hand up high.

I hold my right hand out,

I hold my right hand out,

I show the traffic where to turn,

I hold my right hand out.

I hold my left hand out,

I hold my left hand out,

I show the traffic where to turn,

I hold my left hand out.

The Busy Fireman

Ding, ding, ding, ding,

Ding, ding, ding, ding,

Hear the firebell ring.

Oo – Oo – Oo – Oo,

Oo – Oo – Oo—Oo,

Hear the siren sing,

See the firemen,

See the firemen,

Running all about.

Pour on water,

Pour on water,

Look!

The fire’s out!

 Sally The Camel

Sally the camel has five humps,

Sally the camel has five humps,

Sally the camel has five humps,

So ride, Sally ride, boom, boom, boom, boom!

Sally the camel has four humps . . .

Sally the camel has three humps . . .

Sally the camel has two humps . . .

Sally the camel has one hump . . .

Sally the camel has no humps,

Sally the camel has no humps,

Sally the camel has no humps,

Cause Sally was a horse of course.
